It has been said that to know where you want to go

you need to look at where you've been and consider how

you got to this point in time.

Camp Overton was founded on a solid premise

and has not deviated from it down

 through  the years...

… the premise of inspired Holy scripture!

Text Box: Ron Culberson remembers…

In the late 1940's the Church of God in Tennessee was looking for a campground. Bro. Issac Tucker somehow heard about CO and investigated. It was originally a Boy Scout Camp for the Middle Tenn. Dist. and when their new camp was built up on the Caney Fork River they abandoned CO. It was purchased for less than $10,000 with a loan from Lois Vantrease who originally attended the Hermitage congregation, then later attended the Community Church in Nashville. She held the mortgage for the church for a rather long period of time. Finally we were able to pay it off.

Text Box: Only God knows how many lives
 have been affected by
Camp Overton.
If only one life was changed
was it worth all the sacrifices?
 Is it still worth it?
